Jarrahdale Cottage

Jarrahdale Cottage is a bed and breakfast situated in the heart of Jarrahdale Townsite. A 5 minute drive to Millbrook Winery and a 10 minute drive to Quarry Farm, the bed and breakfast is the perfect accommodation for wedding guests looking for a retreat for the evening over the Spring and Summer months.

Over autumn and winter, the Cottage finds itself host to another kind of guest as hundreds of budding cyclists take on the Munda Biddi Trail. With the track opening just behind and a rear verandah perfect for storing bikes, the Cottage is popular amongst cyclists.

Jarrahdale cottage is an escape to the country in the timber town of Jarrahdale, bordering Serpentine National Park.

This listing is for the full house, which is unshared and fully equipped.

A short walk to the Tavern, Museum, Post Office & General Store and a longer walk to Millbrook Winery, the cottage is in a central town location. The Mundi Biddi trail opens up roughly 100m from the house and the Bibbulman passes nearby.

The Space

Jarrahdale Cottage, bordering Serpentine National Park in Jarrahdale, oozes with country appeal from the white picket fence at the front to the fruit trees and vegetable gardens at the back. Breakfast features eggs laid by the chickens in the garden (when they are laying, of course!).

The Family room is the largest room at Jarrahdale Cottage and has a main room with a smaller side room attached. The main room has a small kitchenette with sink & cleaning supplies and a dining area with a table and chairs. A chest of drawers provides storage along with a large mirror, and there are multiple powerpoints. There are also two side tables with reading lamps and further storage drawers. The smaller room has a double – single bunk bed, wardrobe and shelving and kids toy box and rocking horse. There is a changing table for those with infants and a soft side cot. During the summer there is air con in the side room and with a ceiling fan in the main room. For those chilly winter nights there is a large oil heater and fleece blankets in the drawers or across the beds.

The second bedroom of the house has a queen bed with side couch, side tables and a suit hanger, along with another aircon! The third bedroom has two single beds and a further set of drawers. Both rooms have fans.

In the main area of the house, there is a fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge, oven and cutlery/utensils. An air-conditioned lounge area features several comfy chairs and sofas and a selection of board games. Please note, there is no TV at the premises, guests are encouraged to take the time to reconnect with family and nature and enjoy the blissful environment we live in!

Moving outside, children are welcome to play in the garden and see the chickens. There is a large trampoline, a cubby house and a small slide.

Guests are welcome to feed the chickens and pat them but we do ask you to ensure they remain in the enclosure.

Jarrahdale Townsite

In the center of the historic town of Jarrahdale, guests can grab a delicious cooked breakfast at the Jarrahdale Post Office Cafe, wander to the local General Store for coffee and cake or take the kids to the large local park only 200m away. Around the same distance in the opposite direction, there is a skate park for those with older children.

There are many walks in the township, from the easy walk past the Millhouse Managers house to Turtle Creek, to the more challenging hikes around Kitty’s Gorge and more. Many guests come as cyclists from the Mundi Biddi Trail which opens up just across the road from the Cottage and makes for a beautiful evening walk, or as hikers from the nearby Bibbulman Track. There is a small museum in town ran by the Heritage Society which documents Jarrahdale’s rich milling history, and there is an original felled tree nearby showing just how giant our Jarrah forest once was.

In the evening, the Cottage is a short walk to the Tavern where there is often live music. For those who want a fine wining and dining experience there is a longer walk or short drive to Millbrook Winery, site of weddings and extensive vineyards.
